Martijn de Wever, FOM’s CEO and CoFounder, has created an innovative investment product that enables clients to easily invest in a spread of startup businesses. This portfolio approach both spreads risk for investors and allows access to funding for small business looking to grow. As many of the businesses accessed by FOM are technology based, Territory were approached to create a futurefacing digital experience and user interface that encapsulate this spirit. With a concept that uses the scale of the circles as indicators of company size and investment opportunity, we created a portal that visually displays investments as a cluster of different coloured circles. Once the client has made their initial investment, they have access to a 3D view showing the level of investments and return for each company. This can then be viewed in its 3D state of simplified 2D chart or listed.
Working closely with Martijn to understand the nuances of the complex investment process, our UX team helped to simplify the journey through real time data visualisations. This proved an invaluable prototyping process that enables us to better define the journey through the product.
With the vast majority of clients accessing their portfolios on the move, it was essential to create a responsive product experience across both desktop and mobile, allowing an accessible and visually consistent experience.
I wanted something unique and organic, with a clear communication style that translates the numerical field of finance into a visually appealing user experience that puts power and control in the hands of the user. Territory ticked all those boxes and more – we worked collaboratively towards a prototype concept and they delivered a digital product that feels unique in the sector.
Force Over Mass required a strong, trusted mark that resonates in the investment sector yet is modern enough to communicate the technological step-change the product brings to market.
