The Role
Territory Studio is looking for a Render Wrangler responsible for helping and supporting the rendering process of our productions by monitoring the Render Farm. As Render Wrangler you will be involved with every aspect of our production pipeline. Working closely with the Pipeline Manager, you will interact with Visual Effects Artists, Software Developers, IT and VFX producers.
This Render Wrangler role is a great entry-level position for those interested in a technical-track position (Technical Director, IT,…).
ROLE: Render Wrangler
LOCATION: London (Hybrid working - 3 days in studio / 2 days at home)
CONTRACT: Full-time (40 hours/ week)
Responsibilities
- Monitor, manage and maintain the ability of the Render Farm to function at its maximum.
- Monitor, manage, monitor and audit renders for daily deliveries.
- Maintain, track rendering priorities.
- Plan and communicate effectively in regards of resources allocations in accordance with the needs of the projects and of the production team.
- Help and support the artists with support requests and errors.
- Monitor infrastructure (servers) and identify problems.
- With the help of the R&D team, help to develop tools to support production.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Windows, macOS, networking concepts, and comfortable working in a CLI.
- Solid grounding in IT fundamentals.
- Ability to prioritize work, perform multiple tasks and work under time constraints
- Self-driven, proactive, reliable.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and learn new skills as required.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced atmosphere.
- Knowledge of Deadline, Cinema 4D, After Effects, Maya, Houdini, Arnold, Redshift and other VFX industry tools is a plus.
