A high concept science fiction indy, Territory was brought on board to create opening title sequence, vfx character animation, environment and set extensions.

A unique project, this was our first CG character animation project, and we contributed to the presence and personality of A.R.T.I, an AI responsible for this mission to Mars.
ARTi Design Development
From concept through to final delivery, our team created main character A.R.T.I, an AI that works closely with mission controller Mackenzie ‘Mack’ Wilson (Katee Sackhoff). With references to Flight of the Navigator, we worked closely with HaZ to create a mechanical personality, giving it simple yet effective personality cues that convey emotional responses and human connection in its interaction with Mack. Setting up a bespoke pipeline to streamline the project, Territory’s team concepted, designed, choreographed, animated, rendered and comped all ARTI sequences and shots.

Titles Design
Drawing on the story premise, the titles open on a dreamlike journey through space that builds in tension and drama over the 2 minute sequence. Introducing elements that reference A.R.T.I’s visual interface, the creative informed the VFX shots at the end of the film.
