In 2024, Disney even suggested the final title was Agatha: The Lying Witch and the Great Wardrobe, further fuelling the rumour mill!
Stirring the cauldron
Our job was to conjure ideas that could travel through multiple consumer touchpoints with a cohesive narrative.
We worked closely with the Disney Marvel team to develop routes that were designed from the ground up to create that big bang reveal moment the fans were craving. Activating the full power of the Disney and Marvel ecosystem, our priority was to allow Agatha to bridge Marvel’s character canon and the enchanting world of Disney by embracing both ends of the fandom spectrum and lure those in between.
Unleashing the witchcraft
Before anything could be set in motion, without a final title and release date and a quickly approaching New York Upfront convention, we mobilised to help the Disney team weave together an announcement worthy of all the anticipation.
What resulted was an announcement at the New York Upfronts followed by the launch of this simple but loaded motion asset across socials asking “Who’s been messing up everything?” with Agatha’s signature theme song. The announcement suggests Agatha herself had manipulated the promotional narrative using her own dark magic, and the result was spellbinding.
