Director Guillermo del Toro’s visual treat skilfully weaves together the best of Gothic romance and horror. With its richly textured environments, enigmatic characters, dark secrets, sinister ghosts and tense plot, this film leaps off the screen and Comflix immediately saw the potential for a great motion comic trailer.
Having worked with Territory’s motion graphics studio on several previous projects, Comflix once again called on us to come up with an original and eye-catching concept that would support del Torro’s vision for the film and tie in with Legendary Pictures and Universal Studio’s promotional campaign.
Knowing that del Torro wanted to promote Crimson Peak with a delicate subtlety that alluded to the nature of the film without giving anything away, our creative director turned to the film’s themes of crimson, romance, blood, ghosts and the dark brooding house for inspiration.
