Territory Studio San Francisco brings Expo 2020 Dubai to life with motion graphic elements and 3D enhancements.

Initially asked to add realism and energy to an architectural render, the team’s collaborative approach and professional delivery led to further asks. From technological and biomedical advancements to smart homes, video games, and future facing user interfaces, the team stepped in to bring the narrative to life with motion graphics.
Producing a modular system of widgets for the UI, we were easily able to bring consistency to the visual language across all screen designs, including DNA, Quarks, Smart home and Hyperloop. We further embellished the UI with 3D elements, adding depth and contextual content to support the narrative for each sequence. Finally, we composited the renders into the live action footage.
The hero shot of the Expo 2020 anthem video required extensive environmental, atmospheric and camera enhancements to add realism and energy to the architectural render.
Working with the architect’s render, we built up the sequence in layers, using shot tracking and Digital Matte Painting to add movement and depth with textures, reflections and realistic shadows, night sky, city lights and a grand finale fireworks show. We comped all this into the final architectural render, concluding the video with a logo animation.
It was a great collaboration and team work in the true spirit of the words spoken in the copy. We like to thank the Territory Studio team for their support and creativity which made this a memorable experience and a great success.
