When Kill 2 Birds needed a creative partner to realise their promo concept for SyFy channel's new science fiction series, Territory came on board to bring it to life.
Working in close collaboration, we created a 30 second trailer that blends 3D, visual effects, iconography and graphic treatments to convey the volatile emotional landscape that takes hold of the Nightflyers crew members.
An experimental R&D process led to the application of visual distortions to the geometry of each character’s face. Serving as contextual references, these distortions reveal specific internal struggles that tap into the backstory and narrative arc of each character, and the sequence culminates in an allusion to the alien threat on board Nightflyers.
