Featuring clean, and technical styling, UI and screen graphic designs follow the grain set by the sterile, moody, near-future world depicted.
The semi-holographic interface with parallax overlays serves as a crucial element in our story. Director Boris Kunz envisioned it as embodying a functional and tactile feel. AEON’s in-house surveillance team relies on this technology to track suspects and protect their base. The tablet display seamlessly presents CCTV footage, maps, social media widgets, and other visuals, striking a careful balance between clarity for the audience and uncluttered elegance for the eye.
Familiar but unlike anything that exists today. The tablet and computer GUI offer functions for everyday pedestrian life. The operating system features embossed and debossed application tiles that stand up against the flat, rounded, clean product design. Another exploration of 2.5D, these graphics were made in After Effects and hand-animated to match the movements and gestures of the actors before being composited in Nuke into the final shot.
The development of graphics for car interiors sparked a beautiful synergy between our screen graphics design and digital design teams. They harnessed their shared expertise and creative vision to conceptualize graphics for automobile interface design. The resulting car UX seamlessly blends full-color tablet screens with windscreen-projected HUDs, providing essential driving information feedback in a (near) futuristic manner.
Lending itself to the key colour palettes of AEON’s brand, both the news graphics and the propaganda billboard are important world-building expansions that transport audiences beyond the narrative allowing them to immerse themselves in the stark contrast between two worlds: A futuristic dream adorning the side of a crumbling council estate symbolizes the divide between those who can afford to live forever, and those who live to serve them.
