Stip

Stip is a Brazilian multidisciplinary director, designer and illustrator focused on creative and art direction across multiple platforms. His approach is often mixed media, weaving in energetic illustrations into live action. He has vast experience in digital platforms, advertising, broadcast, live action, motion design and title sequences. Throughout his career, he has directed projects for global brands such as Adidas, Ea Sports, Dazn, Ukmva, Beats, Nike, Netflix, IBM, Trident, Under Armour and Uber. Stip has been awarded for his creativity and direction at D&AD, The Clios and LIA.

Netflix : Rebeldes

It is an exciting time for Rebelde fans because we are getting new music from Netflix’s latest take on the telenovela.“Pensando en ti” is the latest single from the upcoming Rebelde project. The animated music video is a psychedelic journey through the high school hallways and the minds of some of the students. We get a small taste of who the new characters are while enjoying a colourful display unfolding before us. “It doesn’t matter if you love us or hate us, we’re always thinking of you.” Rebelde premiered on Netflix and we went all out from concept to finish for their new single: Pensando en Ti. Rebelde is now streaming on Netflix Worldwide.

EA x Adidas Collaboration

Ea Games in collaboration with Adidas. Co-Directed by Stip, is a campaign launching limited edition football shirts in digital and physical spaces. Featuring football superstars Jesse Lingard, Marcelo, Dybala and David Alaba, this attention-grabbing spot showcased the limited edition shirts with an abundance of colour, patterns and visuals. The foundation of this spot was 4 shoots which took place in 4 different countries. A modular, attention-grabbing series of films ran across social platforms and shattered client expectations.

UBER

The Uber Creative team had an idea to create a series of animated interviews with some of their drivers. They wanted to find people with interesting and inspiring stories that described how driving might have taught them something or changed their perspective or just given them a really interesting experience. Features the great artist Kwaye a British-Zimbabwean singer and songwriter who has released two EPs and his songs have been featured in Netflix’s Topboy and On My Block, he also played Jacob in the Julian Fellowes 2009 movie, From Time to Time. The story talks about when Kwaye arrived in Los Angeles as a student and got an Uber ride with the driver Peter. The driver handed Kwaye the aux cable and magic happened. See how Peter’s ear changed both of their careers in an all-new Once Upon a Ride.

Trident

“Chew and Unlock” is the positioning of Trident. The idea is for the consumer to use chewing gum as an ally to relieve the small tensions of everyday life, bringing up a more authentic and fun attitude. The film was Art Directed, designed and illustrated by Stip and the process uses an arsenal of techniques such as cel animation, motion graphics, 3d, 2d, live-action and typography.

EA NHL

Hockey culture is evolving and so are the game’s top icons and fans. With a new generation of stars hitting the ice, EA SPORTS NHL 20 is bringing a new campaign to life that reflects the sport’s changing identity on and off the rink. Through a partnership with Adidas, NHL 20 welcomes Kyle Lowry, Adam Thielen and JuJu Smith-Schuster into the World of CHEL and Hockey Ultimate Team to showcase their unique style to the hockey world, and they will also feature as playable characters in NHL ONES Now. Each athlete will feature their story-driven apparel, including hoodies, jerseys, and skates, all inspired by the athlete with hockey culture in mind.

Under Armour

We created this stylized animated spot for Under Armour draws on a powerful poem to celebrate March Madness conferences in partnership with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) “Love, sweat and tears are what got you here. No days off. Time to unleash a chaos ball like it’s your last game. Never fold during crunch time as one time every time your sneakers touch those hardwood floors. You can never be defeated if you always remember what you’re fighting for: You”.

Forward Festival Title Sequence

A Title sequence I had the pleasure to art direct, celebrating the power and strength in standing out from the crowd. Unveiled at Forward Festivals 2019 in Munich, the piece depicts three abstract worlds using immaculate CG portrays the genuinely distinct markings of a fiercely independent black panther. The Process was fascinating as I was able to participate in the story from scratch pushing it all away through to production.

EA ITALIAN SERIA A

Collaborating with EA Sports to develop the film for FIFA Seria A 21/22, we were able to feature some of the most mind-blowing clubs in the Seria A League in Italy. Using their mascots and other elements inspired by the culture of the teams we brought this film to life to inspire fan passion as the season began. The campaign features the most iconic mascots in wild and epic scenes plus fast-forwards movement engages the audience. We created their spirit via illustration, the unique illustration style connects tissue for this integrated campaign and the visual voice of the brand.

Cidade Invisível Title Sequence

Main Title sequence for Invisible City series Creative Directed by Stip and Dopo for Netflix. I’m delighted to be debuting my first project with my idol, the Oscar-nominated Director: Carlos Saldanha (Ice Age and Rio) who is also debuting on Netflix his first live-action series on. The series is taking Brazilian folklore stories to the world from a contemporary perspective. Invisible City brings relevant and current themes such as environmental preservation and the rescue of Brazilian popular culture, in addition to exploring human relationships through mystics and thrillers.
