A space flight combat game, the project combined our science fiction UI for film and game experience.
We began with a design for the speccing up of the mech suit. We knew that there was going to be intense action in front of the gamer and dense data, so we needed to be efficient with the information on screen. We animated a prototype to figure out contextually when certain elements needed to appear on screen – an approach that worked really well for the team and that we now use regularly to help map gameplay journeys and information flow.
We were also asked to animate two opening cinematics that had been story boarded as concept art. The scenes unfold with slow, sweeping movements that reveal beautiful landscapes on a grand scale, telling a story of the intergalactic race and the battles they encounter in the search for a new home away from Earth.
