Pre-Production

Precise pre-planning and scene blocking allowed for additional DOP coverage and a degree of flexibility on set.

Filmed on the giant V stage at Warner Brothers Leavesden, the shoot involved a wraparound wall and ceiling, complex camera set-ups, talent, practical set, special effects, specialist lenses, stunts, technocrane and a huge motion control rig.

We had a finite budget and resources to work with, so had to plan and operate with efficiency.

We used a combination of Digital Matte Painting, High Dynamic Range Imagery, built and acquired assets, kitbashing, Megascans and procedural models to create vast swathes of southern England from scratch – much of which is unrecognisable today, as it endured heavy bombing during the war.
