The Family Plan 2 sees Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan return in a Simon Cellan Jones directed sequel about a family’s tangles with organised crime and the introduction of Dan's resentful long-lost half-brother, Finn Clarke (played by Kit Harrington).
Our team provided a comprehensive VFX and motion graphics package for the picture, we designed on-set playback and delivered over 100 post-production shots, bridging the gap between practical screens and digital effects. Our work anchored the film’s pivotal "cyber battles," including the climactic hack on Finn's Lair. From prominent interface graphics to executing invisible VFX fixes, we ensured every detail felt integrated into the narrative and picture.
Finn’s control room at the McCaffrey Paris mansion is the nerve centre for his operations. His tech setup is a mix of real-world surveillance concepts and stylised futuristic design. features two freestanding 85-inch (6”3 tall) portrait monitors, as well as a part touch-based, part PTZ control style surface console and primary monitor.
Kyle (played by Van Crosby) leads the hacking efforts to sabotage Finn’s plans. His audio-scrubbing tools and data exfiltration python scripts bypasses the firewall so he can install a virus to Finn’s system leading to a climatic take down.
The Morgan family’s personal tech—including the mother’s iPad and various characters’ iPhones—had to feature specially designed screens that were true to a specific version of iOS.
Outside of the more obvious screen comps, we delivered a number of invisible effects shots to add detail to other environments and props.
